I am Dedicated to Guiding You to the Answers that Lie Within,
Inspiring You to Walk Along the Path of Aliveness.

Gold

Hi,
I am Salma

I am a coach and facilitator of transformation. Through my company The Pathway Project, I have coached and trained thousands of leaders, professionals, teams and groups across the Middle East, Asia, and Europe, working with Fortune 500 companies, government agencies and leading organizations across various industries.

Sounds good on paper, right? Well, it wasn’t always this easy. Over the past several years, not only have I coached and trained thousands of individuals, I’ve also spent every moment working on improving myself and my personal development.

But how has this helped me to be able to help you?

It Feels Great to be Truly Seen

I guide individuals to uncover the path to reaching their full potential, both professionally and personally. But transformation isn’t an easy ride. I push you; I confront you; I challenge you – and I comfort you later. I’ll ask the tough questions that will have you digging deep to reveal hidden parts of yourself and show you how to befriend your emotions while you navigate through them. I will guide you to the answers that lie within you with one goal in mind – to bring out the best you. The you, you deserve to be.

What makes me the ideal person to help you on this journey? Well, beyond my role as a coach and facilitator, I soak up life. Hell, I am LARGER than life: I am a bachata dancer in a thriving and vibrant community in Dubai; I am a passionate traveller and a successful entrepreneur. I am a community leader and a fun and adventure loving woman of passion and compassion. But most importantly I am human. I have experienced the highs and lows that life likes to throw our way and I have come out from each one stronger and ready to help others do the same.

Like everyone, I am still learning along the way. I still have moments of self-doubt and fear. This is a journey, not a destination, and so I carry on travelling through it. But I now know how to use my emotions as a resource to look within myself to come out stronger – well, at least when the inner critics don’t get the better of me, ha! I’m still on a journey to know who I really am and how to own my own narrative. But by using my own experience and all I have learnt; I am able to help you create a more expressive and expansive life.

Believing in a State of Aliveness

I believe in vulnerability and accessing what is under the surface.

I believe in authenticity and human connection.

I believe in meaning and purpose.

I believe in embracing and surrendering to the human experience.

I believe we all need to give ourselves the chance to read between the lines of OUR own story. The story only we know so well.

So here goes a bit of my story.

Unravelling the path to my identity I am Palestinian, from Gaza, and like most Palestinians, I was compelled to find refuge in a foreign land very early in life, with my journey taking me through Germany, Egypt, and finally settling in Canada.

By the time we arrived in Canada, I was nine years old and I felt very different from the other kids. I grew up in a somewhat conservative culture, which was conflicting with the conventions of the western world. While my warm and loving family allowed me to be whoever I wanted to be, I was conflicted on how to find the balance between these two states of culture and understanding.

But rather than let it confine me, I used it as part of my own definition. Being exposed to all these different cultures and ideologies, I grew up able to embrace the differences in people. But beyond that I found myself inclined to attune to the similarities - to what makes us all human.

At 21, I realized that although I had left the Middle East many years ago, it had never left me, so I decided to return to my roots.

Checking off the list of life's clichés As with every human being on Earth, life put me through my paces several times. A list of clichés to call mine, all traumas included in the package. You go after what you think you really want in life, just to find out what it is that you really do not want.

A dysfunctional marriage, ever heard of such a thing? I have fallen in love, fallen out of it, head over heels, face straight to the ground. And while time has given me the gift of being able to now make jokes, in the moment, my life was truly turned upside down. I had a very strong belief system torn apart in front of my eyes. And there was nothing I could do to stop it from happening.

After a short but intense chapter in Kuwait, where I built a career I adored, pursuing love and my need for human connections, I was suddenly uprooted and in need of a new place to call home. I landed in Dubai ready to fly solo - literally. And nothing better than a new place to build a new you. I brushed off the dust of my shattered life, put the pieces of myself back together, and landed my two feet back into the corporate world.

I was hustling like a real boss girl, climbing the career ladder and playing a role that was attributed to me.
I was successful.
I was playing by the rules.
I was somebody other than me.

Several years went by and I felt I had achieved success. But I also felt something was missing.

What an intriguing part of human nature – that we’re always looking for more!

Well, I had no idea what was coming my way.

My world fell apart While I was thinking “What next?”, my father was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and given a couple of months to live.

Needless to say, my world fell apart.

In no time, I was back in Canada, ready to fight this ruthless battle alongside him.

For nine months, I lived in the cancer ward. I watched him and others suffer, but fight, every day.

The super woman in me wanted to save the day and remove everyone’s pain with my bare hands. But all I could do was hope. And all I could offer was unconditional love.

Feeling distressed and drained to the bone, I broke down.

And there came my humanity once again.

Out of this breakdown came a breakthrough. My father got a second chance. And so, did I. A chance to rebuild myself once more. But this time with so many beautiful new pieces. Being given that chance is the most valuable gift. Taking that chance with both hands, unapologetically, is our duty, assigned to us by the universe or fate.

I found myself more and more intrigued and desperate to fully explore and discover all of my new pieces. I wanted to personify every single one of them, fully. I had never felt so alive.

Unlearning to relearn I felt a deep yearning for what I was yet to unravel. I hired a coach to attain some clarity and was suddenly hit by immense intrigue and a strong sense of belonging. Before I knew it, I had signed up for a coach training program.

You know that feeling when everything finally falls into place? Yup, that’s what happened right then.

I confronted my demons and shone light onto my blind spots. I had to unlearn to relearn. I searched and embarked on a path of self-discovery and self-acceptance, that led me to realise how often we’re trapped in our own misconceptions.

It was like looking into the clearest mirror in the world. The illusions had fallen apart.

I delved into coaching and was challenged in ways I did not think were possible. I was invited to let go off everything I knew, everything I was. It pretty much ripped me apart. But it then allowed me to rebuild myself in a whole new way.

I felt alive, inspired, whole. I wanted everyone to be able to experience the same thing. To feel that truth, that power, that state of aliveness.

I wanted to inspire people, just as I had been strongly and deeply inspired by so many people along the way.

And through this process I started my own company, The Pathway Project. I realized my love for human development and how passionate I am working with people and understanding their behaviours. Since then my purpose has been to help others reach their full potential, realise what they want and desire for life and make it happen.

Shortly after my coaching certification, I became a faculty member at the same coaching school where I studied. My journey had come a complete circle.

Isn’t it fascinating how a tragic experience can also be responsible for your healing?

And my unraveling didn’t stop there.

Getting personal Now is the time to call myself forth to truly reveal myself. It is time to get personal with YOU. I can’t ask you to share your story with me if I don’t share mine first, right?

I have learned throughout my experiences that the way to reach further is not by reaching out, but by reaching in - and then going inside out.

Besides offering my services, I have created this platform and space to vulnerably and openly share my stories with you. The exhilarating highs, the heart wrenching lows and all the A-ha moments in between. And with the hope that maybe you will feel the urge to share yours too.

Why? Because if there’s one thing I’m sure of, it’s that doing so leads to extraordinary breakthroughs, inner discovery and mind and soul healing.

So, let’s use this space to dig deeper; to have raw conversations; to go beyond.

Let’s get more personal.

Let’s look through the surface.

Let’s allow ourselves to live life in all its colors.

Let’s embrace our emotions, unmask and reveal ourselves.

Spoiler alert. We are ALL more alike than we are different.

Salma

Emotions and stories make us human and help us find our state of aliveness. They are our inner truths that shine a light to what wants to be acknowledged. What needs to be loved, seen and heard.

Doesn’t that sound exhilarating? Don’t you think that can run some magic between us?

Because, when we see each other, we see ourselves. And when we truly see ourselves, then we see it all.

I see you; you see you; you see me; and together we see humanity.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I can’t wait to start this magical journey with you and help you go deeper within yourself, and beyond, to find your true you.

I see you, you see you, you see me and together we see humanity
